Letter to Mr. PRESIDENT

Dear Mr. President,

Indeed, we saw an attribute of a mature leader. If Nigeria had not been peaceful in the past years you were in power, what you demonstrated during the 2015 election in a way portrayed you as a man of peace.

Your reaction to the election result is commendable, a contrary reaction would have caused violence and destruction of lives and properties of Nigerians.

There were predictions of post-election violence. As a matter of fact, many Nigerians fled the country for fear of the disaster that would have been indescribable but you handled it quite well and this would remain in our hearts for years to come.

I personally am proud of this particular action even if I had not been proud of your administration.
You showed that contrary to what a number of Nigerians might think, you value and cherish the lives of Nigerians by allowing peace, especially when it was evident that the opposition got the victory. Unlike what we experienced in 2011, when post-election violence killed hundreds of Nigerians.

I wish other leaders would see and learn that election is not a “do or die” affair. And when results come seemingly wrong, dubitable and unfair, two wrongs definitely do not make a right; they could be contested and presented in respectable forms.
Peace should be priority. The lives of the citizenry should always be fundamental.

God bless Mr. President! God bless Nigeria!!!
